Appointments

Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

  • use our appointment request form, Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 4.30pm
    • If you are unable to use the online form, phone us on
      01788 435 214
    • Please be aware the PSA/Receptionists will still have to complete a form on your behalf, so you may be asked more questions than normal

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

We are now using a total triage system to book appointments with the GP.

We are asking everybody who is able to use the internet to go to the practice website and use our online consult tool. You can also do it through the NHS App.

This will take you through a simple form which may take 3-5 minutes to complete. Once you have completed this form, it will be sent to the GPs triage team to decide on the next best steps for your symptoms or query.

You will be able to submit a form online from 6.30am (before you go to work or start the school run) until 4.30pm Monday – Friday. This means you no longer have to wait on the phone line at 8am. The practice will still be open until 6.30pm and any urgent queries after 4.30pm please call the surgery.

The new system, will allow us to arrange the most appropriate appointment for you. We aim to respond to your request by the end of the next working day. The response may be booking you an appointment, a telephone call, a message with some advice or a referral to someone else (like a physio or a pharmacist).

    • Please be aware the PSA/Receptionists will still have to complete a form on your behalf, so you may be asked more questions than normal

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need and to arrange the home visit at an appropriate time.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you complete an online consult request before 10am where possible.

If you are unable to use the internet for whatever reason, please call the surgery on 01788 435 214.

  • Please be aware the PSA / Receptionists will still have to complete a form for the triage team so you may be asked more questions that normal.

If your house might be difficult to find please let us know when ringing the surgery.

Whilst we are happy to make a home visit to those patients who are too ill to attend surgery or are housebound, we would ask patients to use this service considerately. We find it is much more effective for us to see our patients at the surgery where there are the facilities for examination and investigation (eg. blood tests or heart tracings) when needed.

We can arrange for district nurses, the community matron or health visitors to visit when appropriate.
